On 4 October 2026, OSAH submitted its application to the Starlink for Impact program. Affordable, reliable connectivity would allow us to extend our digital support to local organizations and, through them, to the vulnerable communities they serve.
The problem: no reliable internet
In eastern DRC, land networks are limited, unstable or absent in many areas, and available connections are often too expensive for small organizations. Cloud tools such as Microsoft 365 are of little use without a connection.
What connectivity would change
- Reach host communities directly: connect field offices and mobile teams so that assessments, beneficiary registration and follow-up happen where people live.
- Make digital tools work in practice: email, document sharing, collaboration and secure storage on Microsoft 365.
- Train and support remotely: online sessions and real-time technical support, with less travel.
- Improve coordination and accountability: timely reporting to donors and clusters, faster information sharing during emergencies.
- Strengthen local leadership, in line with the localization agenda.
